& GASTRONOMIC DELIGHTS:
Taste and discover the memorable, varied wines of Saint Chinian. The town is set in a wide and beautiful valley in Languedoc, Southern France. The holiday includes walking in the countryside and vineyards, wine tasting and French home-cooking.
Discover and enjoy the medal-winning, excellent wines of Saint Chinian. The vineyards are set in a beautiful valley in the Languedoc region. The wine is AOC quality, varied and inexpensive. We will introduce you to the locality, the domaines and taste the wines with the producers and at specialist outlets. On Thursday mornings there is a lively street market where you can purchase many gastronomic delights, including fresh oysters.
Prices include walking maps/guides, B&B accommodation, continental breakfast, wine-tastings, and picnic/lunches. We have arranged two 3-course evening meals with authentic French home cooking (16 Euros, aperitif and wine included) in the beautiful garden of the Maison du Parc. A restaurant visit is also arranged (11 Euro – 19 Euro).
The
accommodation is situated in 18thC stone town houses which have been newly
renovated. The houses are five minutes walk from the
main street, shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and market. Each
double bedroom is either en-suite or shares a bathroom with one other
couple. All have access to a fridge and refreshments.
English is spoken in all the accommodations.
